COMMON QUESTIONS
Certified translation questions, answered.
Do I need a certified translation for IRCC?
IRCC commonly requires an English or French translation when a submitted document is in another language. Follow the instructions for your specific application; I can provide an ATIO- and STIBC-certified Turkish-to-English translation.
Can you translate my Turkish driver’s licence for use in Ontario?
Yes. I can translate your Turkish licence into English. Check DriveTest’s current document requirements for your particular application and send me any instructions you received.
Can you translate my Turkish driving-history document too?
Yes. I can translate your driving-history document separately. Whether it qualifies you for driving-experience credit is determined by DriveTest.
What is included in the certified translation?
My English ATIO translator’s statement comes first, then the certified English translation and a copy of your Turkish document. The pages are assembled together, with my ATIO stamp and signature on each page.
Do I need to mail you the original document?
Clear scans or photos are enough for me to review and quote. If your receiving institution requires physical originals or a particular delivery format, tell me before mailing anything.
Do you work with clients outside Ottawa?
Yes. I am based in Ottawa and serve clients across Canada. Send the documents by email; we can confirm the delivery format and any physical-copy arrangements in your quote.
How quickly will my translation be ready?
Turnaround depends on the document and the work involved. Include your deadline when you request a quote and I will confirm a realistic timeframe before starting.
What is the difference between certified and sworn translation?
My ATIO and STIBC certification is for Turkish → English documents for Canadian purposes. My sworn-translator status with the Turkish Embassy in Ottawa applies to English/French → Turkish translations for Turkish official purposes.
